CrystaLac Brite Tone Grain Filler

CrystaLac Brite-Tone Grain Filler is a waterbased grain filler that is easy to apply and dries clear.

The high solids resin & fumed silica blend fills well on open grained wood such as oak or ash and can also be used for less textured woods such as cherry, walnut and mahogany.

The filler is applied with a cloth or rag and worked into the open grain of the wood. Follow with a squeegee to level the surface and remove excess filler, leaving the filler in the grain only. Using the squeegee diagonally across the grain will help prevent pulling filler back out of the grain.

Once dried, the filler will appear transparent. The filling process may need to be repeated 2 or more times depending on the condition of the grain being filled. Sanding (220 grit) between applications of filler is optional, but is recommended if the previous coat of filler has dried for longer than 24 hours..

Once a sufficient degree of filling has been completed, the surface should be level sanded and the remaining finishing schedule can be completed.

Transparent grain fillers are helpful where minimal color change on the wood surface is preferred, however, the filler can be tinted with ColorFX dyes or with Mixol Pigments to create matching or contrasting filled grain when desired.
